Finland 0-0 Poland: Groups leaders held
Group A
Finland 0 - 0 Poland, Highlights
Finland and Group A leaders Poland were both left to rue missed chances after drawing 0-0 in their Euro 2008 qualifier at Helsinki's Olympic Stadium on Wednesday.
The result kept both sides in contention for a qualifying place, with Poland on 21 points and the Finns second on 19 after 11 matches each. Third-placed Portugal, who have 16 points from nine games, were hosting Serbia later.
Goalkeepers Jussi Jaaskelainen of Finland and Poland's Artur Boruc were in great form for an entertaining game, watched by a near sell-out crowd of 34,000.
The best scoring chances came just before the final whistle, with Poland striker Marek Saganowski hitting the post and a shot by Finland forward Daniel Sjolund being blocked by midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski with Boruc beaten.
'The chances both teams got were 80 percent coincidence,' Poland coach Leo Beenhakker told a news conference.
Finland manager Roy Hodgson was satisfied with his side's performance, saying: 'Particularly in the second half, we played very well.'
